Reminders and 2014 Schedule

2014 Schedule

All meetings will be from 6:00-7:00.

Please bring 50 cents to each meeting to cover the "subs".

First Meeting 9/16/14

Our first meeting for the 2014-2015 year was tonight. The mom's enjoyed catching up while we updated our paperwork for this year. The girls enjoyed playing soccer together and running around the school playground.

We discussed ideas for our troop this year and it sounds like it is going to be a fun year for the girls!

We will get together again on Tuesday, October 7th.

Please renew your membership prior to that meeting.

2014-2015 Junior Girl Scout Troop 2698

Our first meeting for the 2014-2015 year will be on

Tuesday, September 16th at 6:00.

Then we will resume meeting on the 1st Tuesday and the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

Please bring your "subs" (dues) of 50 cents to each meeting to cover renting the room that we meet in.

Bridging Ceremony

Our Brownie troop is now a Junior troop! We had the bridging ceremony in May at the local environmental learning center. It was a beautiful evening and we enjoyed a potluck picnic and an impromptu soccer game with the kids after the ceremony.

Zoo Lights

We had an amazing time at the Zoo Lights exhibit in December. It was a cold night but the lights were beautiful. It was such a fun thing to do as a troop! The Zoo had a "Scout Night" for Girl and Boy Scouts.

First Brownie Meeting for 2013-2014

We enjoyed a low-key first meeting for our 3rd grade Brownie's. We started it off with the Pledge and talked about what some of our favorite summer activities were.

We were all introduced to Lexi, the newest member of the troop. Next, Alison showed us how to make some really neat yarn butterflies for the girls to put on a bracelet.

First Meeting as 3rd Grade Brownies

Our first Brownies meeting will be Tuesday, October 1st at 6 p..m.

It will be held in the art room at the school. Like last year, we will have the meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month.

Due to a change in policy, we will have to pay for the room rental for our meetings. We have decided, as a troop, to have the girls bring 50 cents to each meeting as part of their troop dues. We are going to refer to the 50 cents as "subs" (as in subsidy), which is how our lovely troop leader will be referring to them.

(Subs = Dues)

Our 2013 meeting schedule is:

Troop 2698 was lucky enough to have Boris Kondratieff from CSU come to our May 14th meeting with a cooler full of bugs...literally!

Boris was so entertaining and you can tell how passionate he is about insects, arachnids, crustaceans and all of the other bugs that he talked about. He was funny and so impressed with the girls knowledge of insects. Thankful that we just wrapped up that unit at school!
